A proposal requesting a grant from the National Lottery Fund is being developed to try and address some of the impacts of COVID-19. This joint application by ABC Community Network, Southern Regional College, and the Southern Health Trust aims to deliver a range of training opportunities, well-being activities, and assisting community groups with the necessary provision they need to support individuals living and working in non-neighbourhood renewal areas.

Aligned with Armagh Banbridge and Craigavon’s Council’s community planning strategic themes and action plans this proposal aims to offer relevant training to enhance an individual’s well-being and know-how, by:

  • Digital Skills and working online
  • Skills in recreational and soft skills. (These workshops and courses will both be taught online and, in the classroom, depending on government COVID-19 safety guidelines),
  • Career advice (CV preparation, interview skills)
  • Mental Health Clinic (referrals to services needed)
  • Administration skills and customer care
  • Promoting mental well-being and healthy living
  • Good governance
  • Funding advice for groups
  • Book keeping and accounting support and training
