Growing Local Community Connections
This one-day event will celebrate and explore the amazing things that can happen when people come together in County Armagh.
Whether people already run your own community project, or they’ve got an idea to explore or keen to find a small step to take – there is the opportunity to come along to hear local stories, take part in creative workshops and network with community-minded people in Portadown.
Guest speaker Jon Medlow and his team of dedicated volunteers from River Bann clean-up will be sharing how they’re bringing people together to restore the river.
There’s two great activity-based workshops everyone will get to experience;
Putting down roots to grow together – led by Sustain
Explore local green spot Sustain Community Garden in the middle of Portadown town centre and find out more about how we can all benefit from a stronger connection with nature.
Mapping our community
Spotlight amazing projects or activities already happening and uncover opportunities to make positive change as you map out community life in Portadown. Have your voice heard and get excited about ideas for the future.
They are even hosting a Big Lunch, inviting everyone to share food and conversation. From the county favourites of apple tart or wheaten bread to fruit or sweet treats, if you’re able to, they would love for you to bring something shareable to the Big Lunch table!
