Sustainable Community Buildings (Click Here)

Sustainable Community Buildings is a new programme from The National Lottery Community Fund. They are investing £5 million of National Lottery funding to help voluntary and community organisations in Northern Ireland identify and make changes at their community buildings to help with energy efficiency and improve environmental sustainability.

Groups can apply for funding of up to £50,000 to make improvements such as the installation of solar panels, energy efficient lighting or improve insulation. Before applying, they will have taken part in free carbon literacy training and been supported by energy experts to develop environment plans for their organisation and to identify how they can improve sustainability and reduce their carbon footprint.

The programme will open in stages across Northern Ireland with community organisations in Ards and North Down Borough Council, Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, Mid Ulster District Council and Newry, Mourne and Down District Council able to apply from Wednesday, 7 February – Wednesday, 20 March 2024.

The National Lottery Community Fund are hosting online information sessions for groups based in these areas who would like to find out more. Places can be booked at http://www.ticketsource.co.uk/the-national-lottery...
